Cheats are a Myth
by: Latona
Runescape cheats are constantly dreamt up by people hoping to get around Jagex security and fool runescape players into thinking they will receive statistic boosts and acquire vast virtual wealth with little effort. The hard fact is that cheats in runescape do not exist and Jagex have no intention of deliberately creating any cheats or shortcuts to enable any player to gain an unfair advantage.
On occasion, a bug may be uncovered in the general runescape gaming environment and all bug reports should go directly to Jagex so they can rectify the situation. All players who willingly and knowingly exploit any game bugs can expect Jagex to permanently ban their account without right of appeal. A high price to pay for a few minutes of noteriety or additional fun when bored.
Any player wanting to take advantage of a runescape cheat is likely to find themselves losing their account to the player who told them about the cheat. It is normal that players end up having to divulge their runescape password in order to be able to take advantage of a runescape cheat. This action should immediately send alarm bells ringing in any players' head as Jagex consistently warn against giving your password details to anyone else, as ultimately you bear the responsibility of any events that occur under your characters' account. The very fact a password needs to be input anywhere is evidence that the person initiating the cheat is only interested in trying to gain access to an account to be able to clear out all items for their own benefit.
The advice offered here is that anytime someone approaches you about a runescape cheat then always treat it with caution as it is inevitable they will ask you for your password at some point. Definately do not reveal your password under any circumstances and definately do not download anything they instruct you to download - as the download is highly likely to contain a keylogger of some sort that will compromise the security of your computer as well as risk your runescape character account.
Jagex have continually advised players that cheats are a myth and do not exist. However, many people think Jagex are trying to fool players when in fact they are trying to protect players from losing their accounts and being scammed out of valuable runescape items. It is impossible to protect yourself 100% of the time, but all players will be able to reduce chances of falling victim to account scammers by avoiding the temptation to explore cheating in runescape when they are offered that chance.
The simple thing to take out of this guide is to always be extremely cautious when someone tells you about a runescape cheat, never download any scripts or visit any links that are sent to you regarding runescape cheats and always keep your anti-virus software updated in order to protect your computer security as best you can.

Auto mining is cheating. It is normally a macro programme or bot that is used to mine for someone that doesn't require the person to be online and paying attention. Runescape Macros and bots are real but many of them contain keyloggers that send account password information to the bot creator. Jagex can also detect most of the macro programmes or bots and will ban players they catch. It is not worth using an auto miner bot or macro as there is a risk of being banned when caught. If you value your runescape character then you will avoid using such programmes.

what about that think they call art money or something like that, where they like pull up this screen and alter something, then their 12 gp goes to 999 million.

That sounds more like a stat changer or stat editor. That is cheating and will not work on the main game and will result in accounts using it being banned. Any affect would not be long term - it might only appear to change things but have no real affect.

lolz there are cheats out there u just dont relize it because many people use bots everybody knows about them.

Yes, people may use bots - but that isn't the same as a cheat for runescape. Bot or macro usage is cheating, but most people promise to tell others about cheats that exist and then only try and get their password and pin number etc.
