Scamming in RuneScape is a common problem. Most players on the game are genuine
and are helpful when asked. However, there are many people who deliberately set
out to deceive people and aim to benefit themselves only, without caring about
the consequences. This type of selfish player is known as a scammer. People
should avoid falling into the various tricks and methods used by such players
otherwise they will find themselves losing valuable items. Hopefully by being
made aware of the points in this guide, more players will become educated to the
devious and sometimes blatant methods employed by scammers and therefore not
become yet another victim.
Runescape Impersonation Scams:
- Jagex Staff Impersonations:
Jagex will never
request your password for anything. Do not give it to anyone requesting it -
report them. The general scenario is that someone will request your password
pretending to work for Jagex as they need to check something on your account.
The fact is they are just looking to gain access to your account in order to
scam items from you.
