Runescape offers many different locations and monsters to train melee combat levels on. It can be hard to train combat if you do not know where good monsters are at. The combat training guide below is just one way to train combat in runescape that can help out novice players and enable them to plan what monsters to fight.

Level: 1-5
Train on ducks, spiders, chickens, goblins and humans until you are level 5. This should be very easy for you and will not require much food. Although it is always wise to take some food with you for emergencies incase you get a random event that attacks you.

Level: 6-10
Now start training on giant rats, monkey's, imps, highway men until you are lvl 10. Again, very little food would be required and you should now start hitting the monsters more often which will improve the speed that you can train your combat.

Level: 11-15
Now you should try and get some bronze armor, then train on farmers, barbarians, dark wizards, monks. Since you are now training on monsters that also can cast magic (the dark wizards), you need to be careful as fighting them in melee means they can do more damage to you. Some food will be required for this and remember that dark wizards can cast magic over a distance, so even if you start to run away, you need to have some hitpoints or food remaining so they do not manage to kill you.

Level: 16-20
Now try and get some iron armor then train on dwarves and zombies and some other monsters mentioned earlier. The dwarves and zombies are good to melee on and you should be hitting them often enough to make training worthwhile. It shouldn't take too long and if you have decent equipment for you level, you should not take too much damage. Although some food would be required to ensure your safety.

Level: 21-25
Now train on scorpions, unicorns, thieves, stronger zombies. If training on unicorns you can collect up the unicorn horns and sell them to members who can use the horns to make anti-poison potions. The best place for training on unicorns is the black unicorns in the wilderness - so be extra careful if deciding to train on them as other players will be able to attack you.

Level: 26-35
Try and get some steel armor and train om skeletons, zombie, witches, fortress guards, and pirates. None of these monsters should cause any problems when you are training on them and you should be able to hit them often enough to gain levels quickly.

Level: 36-45
Now you should have steel maybe try mith, now train on more zombies, jail guards, hobgoblins, giants, deadly red spiders, black knights. Always have some food with you incase you need it. Another monster that you can try at this level are Hill Giants - they drop big bones and can be useful for training prayer skill. However, it may be better to wait until you are level 50+ combat before confidently fighting Hill Giants (it all depends on your food and armour).

Level: 46- 60
Now you should have mith and try and get addy, white knights, hobgoblins, skeletons as well as hill giants. All of these should be easy enough for you to fight and gain combat levels quickly.

hope you liked the guide for training melee, maybe ill be back next time for leveling.
