1. What weapons should I use to train my attack on runescape?
Generally when training you should look to use weapons that have a quick attack speed and offer a reasonable boost to your attack. Favoured weapons for training attack are:
a) Daggers - quick weapon that can be used for stab and slash attacks.
b) Short swords - quick stabbing weapon that inflicts greater damage than a dagger
c) Scimitar - quick slash weapon with more power than a short sword
d) Members can use Abyssal Whips that are quick and effective for training attack.
2. Can I boost my attack with anything other than equipment?
Yes, for non-members you can use the prayer skill:
a) Level 7 prayer gives +5% attack boost
b) Level 16 prayer gives +10% attack boost
c) Level 34 prayer gives +15% attack boost
None of these prayers can be used together and all will rely on your prayer points to remain active. If you run out of prayer points while in combat, you will lose the bonus given by the prayer.
In addition, members can use attack potions to further boost their attack level:
a) Normal attack potion will boost attack level between 3 - 12 points
b) Super attack potion will boost attack level between 5 - 19 points
c) Zamorak potion can boost attack between 2 - 21 points
All potions will only provide a boost for a short time and as each game tick passes will reduce by 1 point. The actual number of points that your attack skill is boosted by is determined by your current attack level.
3. How much experience do I get when training in the attack style?
For every point of damage you inflict on an opponent you will receive 4 experience points. The higher number of hitpoints an opponent has will enable you to get more overall attack experience per monster.
4. What is the quickest way to train attack on runescape?
Generally the quickest way to train attack on runescape is to combine using a quick hitting weapon with a monster around about half your current combat level. If you fight a monster that you barely hit or takes a long time to respawn, then you will not gain as much experience had you fought a monster you hit often and had plenty of opponents to attack.
