Hitpoints in Runescape FAQ

by: Latona

This is a collection of frequently asked questions for hitpoints on runescape and helping you understand the skill more. If you have any questions that are not answered here then do not hesitate to submit your question either via email or registering on the forums and sending a personal message. If the question is suitable and relevant it will be added to this compilation for inclusion to benefit other runescape players who may have the same query as you.

1. Can I get my hitpoints over 99 in runescape?
Only members will be able to boost their hitpoints beyond level 99 and it will only be for a short time. They can boost their hitpoints between 2- 16 using a Saradomin Brew which can be made in the herblore skill.

2. Sometimes I die when I have eaten food to restore my hitpoints, why?
There are numerous reasons why this may have happened. You may have clicked to eat the food as you were hit the fatal blow or you were just too late clicking. Alternatively, you may have clicked too many times which resulted in you cancelling your original request to eat the food.

3. Is it wise for me to train combat with low hitpoints?
Generally it isn't wise although can be very beneficial when training using full Dharoks as the set affect bonus will enable you to hit extremely high compared to normal. If you do choose to train using low health then you should wear a ring of life as this may just prevent you from losing valuable items.

4. Should I train agility with full health or low health?
Training agility on lower health is very useful to reduce the amount of damage you take from some objects. Players should be careful not to go too low in hitpoints otherwise they risk dying and losing equipment they may have with them. My advice is to train without equipment and always monitor your health and have some food supplies to regain hitpoints when you are too low.

5. What is the best way to train hitpoints on runescape?
Hitpoints is not a specific skill that can be trained alone. It is the result of using another skill, either a melee skill, magic skill or the range skill. Each time damage is done to an opponent, experience points are awarded depending on the level of damage inflicted. These hitpoint tips may help make training hitpoints (combat, mage or range), more effective.
