Ranging in Runescape FAQ

This is a collection of frequently asked questions for ranging on runescape and helping you understand the skill more. 1. Is the cannon good to train my range skill in runescape?
The cannon can be very useful to help you train your ranging skill on runescape, although it can be costly as well. The cannon is quite effective if you are wanting to train both range and melee at the same time, especially on some slayer tasks.

2. My cannon just disappeared - what happened to it and how can I get it back?
If you had set up your cannon and it was firing and simply disappeared, then it will have decayed. This is normal and to obtain a replacement cannon you should head over to Nulodion the Dwarf Engineer. Players can prevent the cannon from decaying by being alert when they see a message their cannon is about to decay they can pick it up and reset the cannon.

3. How can I do more damage with my arrows?
Players can improve their chances of doing higher damage by:
a) Training their range skill to a higher level
b) Using better quality arrows (adamantite if non-member)
c) Wearing better ranging armour - either leather or dragonhide
d) Members may get their ranging skill high enough to use Crystal equipment
e) Members can also use Range potions to give them a boost in their stats for a short time

4. What are the common monsters to train my range on?
Players will normally start their range training by ranging cows at the crafting guild or some other low level monster. Medium rangers normally range lesser demons while higher level rangers will normally range blue dragons (if they are members).
