This is a collection of frequently asked questions for runecrafting on runescape and helping you understand the skill more. 1. What is the difference between rune essence and pure essence on runescape?
Rune essence will only allow people to make the 6 basic rune types that can be made by non-members. The runes are Air, Body, Earth, Fire, Mind and Water. Pure essence can make all rune types and is mined when your mining level is 30 and you are a member.

2. If I am a member but want normal rune essence how can I get that?
Members who want normal rune essence have 2 choices:
a) Buy rune essence from non-members
b) Mine rune essence on a non-member world

3. Which non-player characters can teleport me to the rune essence mine?
The following non-player characters will be able to teleport you into the rune essence mine:
a) Wizard Sedridor
b) Aubury at Varrock Rune Shop
c) Wizard Cromperty in East Ardougne
d) Wizard Distentor in the Magic Guild in Yanille
e) The Gnome Brimstail located in a cave in the Tree Gnome Stronghold

4. How can I get a talisman?
You can get a talisman for entering the elemental altars from killing various monsters throughout runescape. See the Runecrafting Guide for more details.

5. What is the best way to train runescrafting?
For free to play runescape people it is normally best to hire runners (air runners for example). While runescape members will hire law runners, nature runners or use the Abyss for their runecrafting training.
