Strength in Runescape FAQ

by: Latona

This is a collection of frequently asked questions for strength on runescape and helping you understand the skill more. If you have any questions that are not answered here then do not hesitate to submit your question either via email or registering on the forums and sending a personal message. If the question is suitable and relevant it will be added to this compilation for inclusion to benefit other runescape players who may have the same query as you.

1. What weapons should I use to train my strength on runescape?
Generally when training you should look to use weapons that have a quick attack speed and offer a reasonable boost to your strength. Favoured weapons for training strength are:
a) Daggers - quick weapon that can be used for stab and slash attacks.
b) Short swords - quick stabbing weapon that inflicts greater damage than a dagger
c) Scimitar - quick slash weapon with more power than a short sword

2. Can I boost my strength with anything other than equipment?
Yes, for non-members you can use the prayer skill:
a) Level 4 prayer gives +5% strength boost
b) Level 13 prayer gives +10% strength boost
c) Level 31 prayer gives +15% strength boost
None of these prayers can be used together and all will rely on your prayer points to remain active. If you run out of prayer points while in combat, you will lose the bonus given by the prayer.
In addition, strength potions can be used to further boost strength levels:
a) Normal strength potions will boost strength levels between 3 - 12 points. This can be used on both member and non-member worlds.
b) Super strength potions will boost strength level between 5 - 19 points. Super strength potions are member only.
c) Zamorak potion can boost strength between 2 - 13 points and is for members only.
All potions will only provide a boost for a short time and as each game tick passes will reduce by 1 point. The actual number of points that your strength skill is boosted by is determined by your current strength level.
