Thieving in Runescape FAQ

This is a collection of frequently asked questions for thieving on runescape and helping you understand the skill more. 1. What is the easiest way to start thieving on runescape?
The easiest way is to pickpocket men or women. They are useful to get into the habbit of pickpocketing and do not deliver much stun damage when you are caught so even low level combat players who are members can use these to train on initially.

2. How long do I have to wait to speak to a stall owner after I have thieved from him?
Players will have to wait a minimum of 10 minutes otherwise the stall owner will call for guards to arrest you.

3. Does it matter where I stand or what equipment I wear when thieving?
Generally it will not make any difference as the chances of thieving successfully from an opponent are purely based on your current thieving level and some luck. There is only one currect exception, if you are in the HAM area then dressing as a cultist will lower your chances of being caught stealing.

4. Is there a guide to help with training the thieving skill?
Most players will have their favourite method to train thieving, however, players can check this list of thieving tips to help them find which method they prefer or to find alternative reasons to train their thieving skill to a higher level.
