First things first, you need to go to port sarim and take the boat to ape atoll which is where pest control is located, it is called the void knights outpost.

There are three boats one level 40+ one 70+ and one 100+. You start when time is up or if u get 25 people in your boat. If you dont get in the game you get a priorty level. The higher the priority level is, the more likely you will get in to the next pest control game.

When you get in it will show you how much hitpoints the void knight has and how much hitpoints each portal has along with how much damage you have put on. You only have 20 minutes to win the game. You need to protect the void knight for 20 mins or you have to kill all the portals. Whichever one happens first the game is over.

If the void knight dies the game is over. You need to protect him and kill the portals normally. It works best with 1 group going in a certain order like 1 portal at a time and 1 group protecting the void kight. If u kill a portal he heals 50 hitpoints. You need to watch out for spinners also as they heal the portals. So if you see one kill it, they make the game alot harder.

If you are not doing a lot of damage on the portals you should move to the pests. They are good to kill as well and you need to make sure they don't break through and kill your knight. If you have an axe and a hammer you can rebuild a wall. The ravengers attack the walls so kill them if you see them breaking the wall defenses.

You only get points if you inflict 50 damage or more in a game, so you don't want to just sit around. You can trade these in for experience in your skills and if you save up your points and get them in bulk you can get more experience per point. You will also get cash from pest control - it is your combat multiplyed by 10. Other rewards you can get are void knight armour and a guthrix mace.

Good luck on your pest control mini gaming, it used to be a much more popular mini game in runescape before the changes, but it can still be useful for gaining some combat experience and working together as a team.
