Aubury's Rune Shop

Aubury's Rune Shop is located directly south of Varrock East Bank. It is a popular location in Runescape for buying the basic runes used by players who do not have a high enough magic level to access the Magic Guild in Yanille. In addition, Aubury can teleport players who have completed the Rune Mysteries Quest into the Essence Mine for them to mine their own Rune Essence to be used in the Runecrafting Skill.

The basic runes on sale in this shop should enable all runescape players to be able to train their magic level up at an economical rate. However, the most desired rune, the nature rune, is not available and therefore Aubury's Rune Shop is mainly used by players who are training their magic up via combat as opposed to using their High Alchemy spell. Nature runes can be purchased by members who have a high enough magic level to access the Magic Guild at Yanille.

It must be noted that the price paid for each rune will increase depending on how much stock there currently is in the shop. Many players used to merchant runes by buying them from the shop and then selling in bulk to players. However, Jagex have increased the base rune cost slightly that has impacted on the benefit of merchanting runes in this manner.

It is still possible to merchant some runes, however the profit margin is much smaller than it used to be and so the overall payoff for time invested versus money returned has made many people turn to increasing their own runecrafting skill in order to benefit from multiple runes per essence.

Players can be teleported to the Rune Essence mine by slecting the 'Teleport' option provided they have completed the Rune Mysteries Quest otherwise they will not be able to access the Rune Essence Mine.
