Giant Mole
Name: Giant Mole
Level: 230
HP: 240
Type: Mole
Picture:
Location:
Wyson the Gardener spilt some growing liquid onto a mole by mistake and it grew to a huge size. It now lives in a burrow of tunnel networks under the Falador Park. To get into his lair you need a Spade (dig over one of the mole hills), a Lantern of sorts (oil lamp, bullseye etc to light up the tunnels) and a tinderbox (for all lamps except Bullseye). The tunnels he lives in are big and a full of big baby moles.
Attack:
He has two attacks, one inflicts damage and the other one is where he will move to another part of the cave. Melee armour is recommended as he can hit quite high.
1) His primary attack is a simple jab with his claw. This can hit quite high and quite often so a good defence and good defence bonuses are an advantage.
2) His other move is to burrow and reappear in another part of the network. He will stop attacking and look down, start to claw at the ground and dust will fly around him. You may sometimes get a temporary splat of mud on your screen. This will put out you lantern (unless it is Bullseye) so be careful!
Its max hit is 27. Do not go below 60HP or risk death. Although death is not likely.
Bring a couple of prayer pots and use Protect from Melee. The mole can NOT hit through it.
Weakness and best drops:
The mole doesnt really have a weakness, crush works best against its thick hide and poison is very usefull. Mage isnt very good as it has mole *hide*. Range is only useful if you bring Crystal bow, Karils X-Bow or a magic bow with rune arrows. Its best drops include a Dragon Left Half and always a Mole Claw and a Mole Hide (1-3); if you are a farmer that is. Hand the hides and claws into Wyson for Birds Nests.
Recommended Items:
Chances of dieing with a group of around 5+ is very small. He is not the most powerful of creatures and is not aggressive. However when he does hit he can hit hard so I recommend melee armour.
I woudld also bring a Dragon Dagger (p/+/s) for poison and a Dragon Halberd for its powerful multi specials.
If you dont have confidence in your defence I recommend bringing prayer potions and a few energy potions. Lobsters or above are ok for his guy.
Ways in which to confront it:
1) It is non-aggressive and even though it is a multi combat zone it will still stay on one person after attacked and NOT spin.
2) When you do attack it get your specials off first to maximize the chance for your kill.
3) When it has burrowed for the first time it can go anyway. North East/West corners, the South Clearing or the East or West walls. I would stay in one section either at the top, sides or bottom to save energy.
4) Potions, if you have the room, would help as it has quite a high defence.
