The Kalphite Queen lives in a hive network under the ground. The entrance to the hive is west of shanty pass and to get to the queen, your team needs at least 2 ropes. 1 to get down the first tunnel and the second (after working through the first level) to get down 1 more floor past the 2 Guardians to get to her lair. The Kalphite Soldiers, Guardians and the Queen all poison so watch out for them!

Attack:
The Queen has two forms, the first one as strong as a tank and the second slightly weaker. Both forms use prayers, the first uses protection from mage and range, the second protects from melee. To add to this both forms can use all 3 styles of attack, range, mage and melee!
1) The first attack, the melee, is very powerful, simply a kick of her two front legs OR a snip with pinsors.

2) The second is a mage attack, her front pinsors grow blue for an instant and then a white beam (like the 'weaken' spell) shoots out, hits one player and flies around to hit everyone in the team. But the further it has to travel the weaker it gets.

3) The last is a range attack. This can hit anyone the Queen is facing. She shakes her abdomen and barbs fly out and strike anyone she is facing.

All of these attacks can easily to 30+.
She can NOT hit through your prayers but will often use an alternative style of attack.
Stay above 70HP, by the time a mage attack from her last attack has got to you, she could have used another attack and has hit you again, 2 hits at once that can easily to 60!

Weakness and best drops:
The Kalphite Queen has no known weakness however crush is good against her first form shell. Iban Blast does NOT work. The Dragon Spear special (stun) does not work and neither does the Dragon Scimitar (sever). But she CAN be poisoned however her shell is very hard to get through. Her best drops are the Dragon Chain and other dragon items.

Recommended items:
Easily the most dangerous clan monster so bring a 1 click teleport (elf crystal or an ectophial). Full Verac with some other bits like a cape and gloves etc are very useful as it has a chance to hit through her armour and her prayer. If you dont have that, I would recommend the following:

You must bring many prayer pots and at least one super set. All the rest must be sharks. Unless you dont want the drop, I would also recommend bringing a range set so you can beat the second form.

Ways in which to confront it:

1) She usually uses range and mage so bring melee armour and protect from mage. Your prayer will run out slowly and you will have an enhanced chance of being hit less when she uses range.
2) Spread out! Not beacuse of her mage attack but because of her range (which can hit multiple) and her melee. Keep her spinning and let her attack less!
3) Drink your potions and antipoisons before she comes! Respawn takes around 4-5mins.
4) Her last form summons many Kalphite Workers, but still concentrate on the Queen!
5) If you are low on health, back out, put on protect items prayer and then eat.

---> A common problem is the items, when going with people make sure you know them VERY well, possibly a clan event so if a Dragon Chain or any item worth sharing the person doesnt run off and keep all the cash if you dont get the item.
