Gnome Ball Guide
As Agility is a member only skill it is not surprising that Gnome Ball is
available to members only. The Gnomeball pitch can be found in the Gnome
Stronghold and may well be more fun to play along with a couple of friends
instead of just the Gnomes. Gnomeball is linked to both your agility and ranged
levels and therefore as these increase you will find your Gnomeball gameplay
also increases.
The objective of the game is to get a ball from the
referee and throw it through the net at the other end of the pitch. The concept
is simple, but there are a lot of Gnomes between you and the goal, all with the
intention of stopping you. It is therefore suggested that you bring some food
with you to replenish hitpoints you may lose during the game.
To play you
will need to use your agility to dodge and tackle your opponents and
subsequently shoot at the goal and test your ranged skill. For each goal scored
you will receive experience in both ranged and agility.
Once you have
entered the pitch you can talk to the Gnome Ball referee who will tell you the
rules of the game. The referee will throw you a Gnomeball and the game will
begin.
On the pitch you will discover that you have three new game
options. They are:
1.Pass - Allows you to pass to your gnome team mates,
wearing green.
2.Tackle - Choosing this option will allow you to tackle a
gnome on the opposing team.
3.Shoot - Gives you the ability to shoot at the
goal.
As stated before the objective is to get to the other side of the
field, obviously dodging any Gnome Ballers tackling you. It must be remembered
that the Gnomes on your team will help you, you can pass to them whilst being
chased by the opposing team and they will pass it back to you. Once you have
made it near the goal, you may try and score by simply clicking on it. The
higher your ranged level is, the better your chances are of scoring.
Your
Gnome Ball Score is in the top right of your screen. Once you reach 5 goals the
game is over as you have won. You will receive an experience bonus and a
gnomeball for your effort.
Please note that the score resets to zero
after every five goals and that you will be unable to log out of RuneScape
whilst playing Gnomeball.
Also at the Gnome Ball Field, the players coach
can be found. He is easily recognised by his distinctive cap, moustache and
sheep-skin coat. He may spare you some time to answer questions on the game and
its various intricacies. His knowledge spans from the tactics and history of the
game, to the strange stars who've earned their fame over the years.
