Using Agility in Runescape

by: Latona

Agility Training:

Agility is a members only skill. It determines the rate at which you regain energy on both member and non-member worlds on Runescape. Agility can also be used to help you gain experience in some other skills quicker as well as giving you the ability to make money quicker. There are many benefits of getting a higher level in agility, although only some key levels have been highlighted in the table below.

Level: Activity: Useful For:
Level 40 All obstacles at Brimhaven Agility Arena Easier to get Agility Tickets
Faster Experience
Level 50 Wear Crystal Equipment Ranging with Crystal Bow
Arrows no longer required
Level 66 Cosmic Temple Shortcut Faster production of Cosmics
Increased money making ability
Level 67 Yanille Rubble Climb Able to get Sinister Key
Herblore
Level 70 Blue Dragon Short-cut Collecting Blue Dragon Scales
Quick to get to Black Demons

Level 40 Agility:

At level 40 agility you are able to negotiate all the obstacles in the Brimhaven Agility Arena. This will enable you to get better experience rewards from your tickets if you decide to stock them up. If you collect 1000 Agility Arena tickets you can trade them in for 320exp per ticket. In addition it will be easier for you to accumulate tickets to trade for the Pirates Hook if you wish.

Level 50 Agility:

At level 50 agility you gain the ability to wear and wield Crystal equipment. Currently the Crystal Bow is popular and has the added bonus of not requiring arrows as it uses 'charges' instead. After recharging your Crystal bow a few times the cost comes down to 180k for 2500 charges. It also hits higher than basic rune arrows and is therefore a reasonably priced alternative for people training range.

Level 66 Agility:

At level 66 agility you gain the ability to get to the Cosmic Altar quicker and if you can runecraft 2 cosmic runes per rune essence (Level 59 Runecrafting required), then you are well placed to benefit from this. Since the introduction of the Mage Training Area at Al-Kharid there has been an increased demand for cosmic runes. You can take advantage of this by being able to craft twice as much and therefore earn more money. Alternatively, you can save yourself time and money by runecrafting your own cosmics and training at the enchantment area in Al-Kharid Mage Arena. Each time you use the shortcut you will gain 34 experience in agility. It is also a safe route to runecrafting cosmics compared to using the Abyss where you may be vulnerable to being attacked by other players.

Level 67 Agility:

At level 67 agility you can successfully negotiate the Rubble Climb at Yanille Agility Dungeon. This allows you to access the residence of Salarin the twisted. Salarin will occasionally drop a Sinister Key which is used to open the Sinister Chest located in the earlier part of the dungeon. The chest always contains a set amount of herbs:

2 x Harralander
3 x Ranarr
1 x Irit Leaf
1 x Avantoe
1 x Kwuarm
1 x Torstol

As Ranarr is a very sought after herb you can invest some time gathering Sinister Keys. You can then sell the herbs found in the chest or use to further advance your own Herblore skill.

Level 70 Agility:

At level 70 agility you can use the shortcut in Taverley Dungeon that leads to the Blue Dragons. This can save you a lot of time when collecting up Blue Dragon Scales which can either be used in your own Herblore skill or sold to others for decent money. It also means you do not need to remember to bring the dusty key to get access to this area.

In addition to this it also offers quicker access to Baby Blue Dragons that can help with both Prayer and Slayer skills. Furthermore, access to Black Demons, Black Dragons, Hellhounds, Fire Obelisk and Water Obelisk are all quicker.
