Construction Training

by: lewisjblack

Construction is a skill released by runescape for members. The basic idea of construction is you build things in your very own player owned house that is bought from an estate agent. This hasn’t been too successful but its a good skill which you have to be 99 to do everything. Even though I haven’t its worthwhile getting to 99. This guide has two ways of reaching 99 construction depending on how much money you are willing to spend.

Construction Tips
- When getting logs hire the highest level servant you can get and tell them to continuously get logs. When they ask you for more money give them the money. This will be helpful when getting from level 52 - 99

1 - 99 spending 50 + mil
When you are spending this amount of money on one skill you want quick experience so you can be up at 99 quickly. Let me warn you getting to 99 in anything isn’t easy but construction is a fun skill and it shouldn’t be too hard. When spending this money I predict if you do construction a lot then you can get up to 99 in around 3 months, 2 months at least and then you must be really committed.

Level 1 - 16
Get 500 iron nails and 100 planks and build crude wooden chairs. I suggest getting the wood and making the planks at the saw mill and smithing the iron nails if you have a high smithing level (19 smithing). You can also buy the things from other players but that will cost more and can take up more time.

At level 10 you can move your house to Taverley and if you have the fishing contest quest complete you can access Catherby bank quicker than you can going from Rimmington to Falador west bank.

Level 16
Build a workshop. This will cost 10k and remember build it near your portal so you can access it faster.

Level 16 - 32
Build 230 oak pluming stands using 230 oak planks. After this no nails will be used.

Level 32
Now upgrade your workshop to Oak. This will use 5 oak planks.

Level 32 - 46
Buy 864 oak planks and build 31 carved oak tables in your dining room gaining 360 experience each. Don’t move your house to Brimhaven, keep it in Taverley.

To get the planks from your bank you can do Falador Teleport (level 37 using 3 air, 1 water and 1 law) get your stuff from the bank and then do House Teleport (40 using 1 air, 1 earth and 1 law). This will need a lot of runes that you can runecraft and 40 magic. The advantages of this are it will get your magic up higher.

Level 46
Build a steel framed workshop using 6 oak logs and 4 steel bars (smithed).

Level 46 - 52
Buy 531 teak planks and 531 cloth and make opulent curtains. This will make 177 of them and they gain 315 experience each.

Level 52
Move your house to Yanille so you can gain quick access to the bank.

Level 52 - 99
After level 52 there isn’t many good things to train on as they are all for building your house and cost a lot of money. The best thing to do is build mahogany tables at your workshop. This is the best way to train but it is also the most expensive.

Each table needs 6 mahogany planks and they give 840 experience each. You will need to make 15,370 of them using 92,220 mahogany planks. To get these mahogany planks you will need 138,330,000 gp and then with 92,220 mahogany logs

Level 99
Build all the rooms in your house, hire servants and make everything and open it to the public. You will be extremely popular as not many people have the privilege in going into a level 99's construction house as they are amazing.
