Cooking Basics

by: Latona

In Runescape you often have to fight monsters or other players. Cooking offers a way for all players to have a plentiful supply of any food stock of their choosing. Initially you will burn a lot but gradually as your cooking level increases the amount of burnt food will be reduced severely. Additionally, as you gain levels in cooking you will be able to cook other types of food which heal more hitpoints or yield higher experience for each successfully cooked item.

Depending on what food you prefer to cook you will have to choose which way to cook it. Some foods may only be cooked using a range while others can be cooked with a normal fire.

Fires offer the benefit of being able to cook your food anywhere on Runescape, although you will need to have logs and a tinderbox equipped if you are in a quiet spot. A woodcutting axe may also be required. Using a fire also means you may burn more food more often.

The alternative to cooking on fires will be to use a range. There are numerous ranges throughout Runescape and can often be found in popular locations. Using the range will also allow you to cook a greater variety of food with a reduced chance of burning it.
