Cooking Training
by: lewisjblack
As the head chef of runescape clan E.V.I.L I think its my duty to explain to lower level cooks how to train this great skill. Cooking is one of the most used skills in runescape and covers all of Fishing and more. Normally trained with the skill fishing, cooking has the most people at 200,000,000 exp. Here is my guide which has helped many before and I hope will help you.
Cooking guide F2p and P2p (shown)
Level 1-10 (f2p and p2p)
Your best option is to kill chickens and cook them if you’re a noob. If you’re starting cooking late and you already have cash, buy meat from a general store and cook on a fire - keep cooking until you reach level 10 cooking. This will take about 10 minutes and is extremely boring.
Another thing to do is kill rats in Lumbridge swamp and cook their meat on fires (this is good for combat exp and also f2p). You can also make and cook shrimp at Draynor explained in the levels below (its not recommended because of the speed but good for getting fishing up which is helpful). You will need to fish and cook 46 but you may burn more than half .
Level 11-20 (f2p and p2p)
Okay here is hard and depends a lot on your fishing level. Fish shrimp from Draynor and store in the bank until you have 104 then cook them all in Edgeville that has a bank close to a cooking range or cook on fires outside Lumbridge bank.
Level 20 - 32 (f2p and p2p)
This maps important for the next few levels. Theres the fly fishing spots which are used to fish trout (level 20 fishing and cooking) and Salmon (level 30 fishing and cooking). It also has the cooking guide which is used in many levels.
To get from 20-35 cook 172 trout that you can fish at the spot and run to the cooking range and the bank or get a cannon to Edgeville (p2p) or chop down a nearby tree and use a tinderbox to make a fire and then cook on that and drop.
Trout are good for selling and you people normally go to level 40 fishing and cooking doing this which means 296 more cooked trout or salmon.
Level 32-50
The cooks guild is a extremely good way of getting your level up now. I would continue fishing until level 35 cooking then your can make wine.
Go to the bottom floor in the cooking guild (you need a chefs hat to access) and fill a jug up with water. Then go to the top floor and get some grapes from a table and use them with the water to make unfermented wine which in 15 seconds or so will turn into normal wine or bad wine (drop it). This is a f2p option.
Level 40-50
Now options are opening up for you everywhere. You can now cook the beloved lobster which sells for 200 each raw and 250 each cooked (prices will vary since the Grand Exchange has opened). For such a low level this is the best f2p way of making money.
If your fishing levels at 40 go to Karjama, the lovely tropical island with a lobster cage and fish. Once you are there, cage fish at the cage fishing spots until you have full. Then cook in Port Sarim and bank in Draynor or cook on Karjama using a fire and sell to people in the volcano (Dragon Slayer Quest Completion). If your a member then go to Catherby and fish lobbys and cook in the range near the bank.
Level 50-76
Now buy a harpoon and fish Swordfish or swordies at Karjama or in p2p Catherby. If there is a fire cook and drop the tuna and in Catherby cook and bank the tuna. The money isn’t as good as lobsters but they can still fetch a decent price raw.
Level 76+ (p2p)
Now we move to the master sharks. You need level 76 fishing also to do this but it is worth it. They sell really high and are worth the wait. Once 92 cooking you won’t burn one so from there you got a home stretch to 99. These are member only so if your still f2p continue with swordies on Karjama. I recommend you work at Catherby still and go to 99 buy a cape and show off.
NOTE:
Although fishing gets money in the bank, it depends on the market you sell in. I’ve had success in Edgeville and Varrock where pkers need food for wildy raids. There is always demand for more food, so don’t worry. The changes to the wilderness may have affected the overall demand by pkers, but people still need food to train their combat in runescape.
