Crafting Tips

by: Latona

Crafting on runescape has too many different ways to train up levels. However, many people on free to play servers are reluctant to train it beyond having the ability to make power amulets while members normally stop training when they can make glory amulets.

Crafting Levelling Tips:

  • Level 1 - 10 make pots and bowls
  • At level 3 you may prefer to make Molten Glass if you have the necessary ingredients ( soda ash + bucket of sand)
  • Level 10 - 46 spin bowstrings or craft normal leather armour
  • Level 16 you can start making holy amulets to level 40 if you have the stock of silver.
  • Level 23 you can make tiaras if you have the stock of silver available.
  • Level 46 you can make unenchanted orbs.
  • Level 54 you can start making battlestaffs.
  • Level 57 is when you can start using green dragon leather
  • Level 71 members can make full blue dragonhide armour

Crafting Experience Tips:

  • Bowstrings are quick to collect and spin and give 15 experience each.
  • Molten glass may take some time to collect up the required ingredients and will give 22.5 experience for each piece.
  • Each piece of Green Dragon Leather gives 62 experience. This is quick to level with if you have good suppliers.
  • Each piece of Blue Dragon Leather will give 70 experience. There is normally a good supply of this within the game.
  • Red Dragon Leather will give 78 experience each although supply is normally very limited.
  • Black Dragon Leather gives 86 experience each and again supply is normally more limited than both blue and green leather.

Runescape Money Tips by Crafting:

  • Craft flax to bowstrings and expect at least 150gp per bowstring when supplying in bulk.
  • Spend some time stockpiling resources for making Molten Glass and then you can sell this for approx 1000gp each.
  • Become self-sufficient and make your own battlestaffs. It will take time to collect up all the resources required but is highly profitable if you do collect everything yourself.
  • Using gems with jewellry can make reasonable money for members who sell the items on non-member worlds. However, you will need to have regular suppliers of gems at feasible costs to make significant cash from this.

Other Runescape Crafting Tips:

  • If fighting monsters that drop gems always carry a chisel. It can mean gaining a lot of crafting experience that you may well have missed out on. However, it will only prove to be a significant amount over time and many people dismiss this as they prefer to power-level.
  • Stock up gems when you can as you can make a lot of other jewellery and gain a lot of valuable experience over time. Most people drop the gems and miss out of both the gem cutting experience and making jewellery experience.
  • Make all jewellery into amulets as it gives the best experience return for the gem used.
  • Buying blue or green dragon hides is one of the quickest ways to raise crafting. It can prove to be quite expensive though.
