Crafting Battlestaffs

Players are able to buy plain battlestaffs from Zaff’s Staffs in Varrock and the Magic Guild in Yanille. Prices for each battlestaff will start at 7000gp. To make the plain battlestaff into an elemental battlestaff you simply have to attach an enchanted orb of either Water, Earth, Fire or Air depending on your preference.

Once you have obtained an unenchanted orb (can be made with level 46 crafting or bought from another player), you will need to get to the corresponding Obelisk to charge the orb.

Obelisk locations are:

(1) Water - Taverley dungeon, up the ladder near the Black Dragons.
(2) Earth - Edgeville Wilderness dungeon past the Black Demons.
(3) Fire - West of the Black Dragons in Taverley dungeon.
(4) Air - Edgeville dungeon, past the Black Demons and up a ladder in the wilderness.

In addition you will need 3 cosmic runes and 30 runes of the type of orb you are trying to make (30 water runes, 3 cosmic runes to make a Water Orb). The table below shows the magic level and crafting level required to make each battlestaff as well as the crafting experience gained from doing so.

When the battlestaff is wielded it will remove the need to carry the runes of that element. Battlestaffs can also be enchanted by Thormac the Sorcerer for those that have completed the Scoprion Catcher Quest. It will cost 40,000 gps but will increase the offensive capabilities of the battlestaff.
