Farming Tips

by: Latona

Farming on runescape can be a very repetitive skill to level up and also quite expensive. This collection of tips is aimed at helping reduce the cost of farming as well as increase the efficiency in the way people train their farming skill.

Farming Levelling Tips:

  • Level 1 - 32 you should concentrate on growing the basic fruit and vegetables on the 4 main patches.
  • Level 32 - 60 concentrate on growing ranarr weed and fruit trees. Stocking any useful fruit as you farm.
  • Level 60 - 75 concentrate on growing Yew Trees and Snapdragon along.
  • Level 75+ is the time to move into growing Magic Trees while continuing to grow all useful herbs as you wait to check the magic trees health.

Farming Experience Tips:

  • Harvest experience for Snapdragon is 98.5 experience per herb harvested.
  • The experience for checking Yew trees health is 7069.9 for each Yew tree planted.
  • For each palm tree that you check health for you will receive 10,150.1 experience.
  • Magic Trees give an astonishing 13,768.3 experience for checking health. The Magic Tree seed can cost a significant amount of cash due to the amount of experience given.
  • The Spirit Tree seed is untradeable and gardener payments cannot ensure it will grow fully. If you do succeed to grow a Spirit tree you will be rewarded with 19,301.8 experience.

It should be noted that brewing will give cooking experience rather than farming experience.

Runescape Money Tips by Farming:

  • Grow Ranarr Weed regularly and either use to make prayer potions and sell those or sell the ranarr weed.
  • Plant Snapdragon seeds for decent experience and similar prices can be got for Snapdragon herb or Super Restore potions that it makes.
  • Regularly collect up ingredients that are used for herblore ingredients or that can be used for farmer payments ie Papaya fruit, cactus spine, Coconuts and Watermelons. There are many farming spawn locations that are useful to help collect up stuff.

Other Runescape Farming Tips:

  • Dont forget about Tears of Guthix Weekly experience. It can benefit your farming levels if you have got it to level 30 but do not actively train it.
  • Use only super compost to ensure better crop yields.
  • Make use of the leperchauns and keep the super compost stocks high to ensure you never run out of compost.
  • If farming fruit and vegetables then do all 4 patches to maximise growth.
  • Alternatively, concentrate on one patch and use the time between planting the seeds and the item growing to cast high alchemy on noted items to make your waiting time more efficient
  • Farming growth times for plants vary and it is normally best farming multiple patches at the same time. So players should make their training more efficient by knowing which items to plant and when they should check them.
  • The amulet of nature will help farmers monitor things better.
