Farming Basics
Farming can help other skills such as cooking, crafting and herblore in Runescape. You will need seeds in order to start farming. Seeds can be found/obtained by combat, thieving and woodcutting.
Seeds can be got from:
1. birds nests ( these fall on the ground when woodcutting and contain tree seeds. note they dont always contain tree seeds )
2. buy from players
3. kill or pickpocket lvl 7 farmers
4. pickpocket master farmers
5. steal from seed stalls in draynor
6. slayer monsters ( the higher the monster the higher the seed )
7. other kinds of npc's
After you have some seeds in stock you will follow this process or very similar to this to do farming:
1. goto an appropriate patch
2. use rake on the patch to remove the weeds ( use weeds on compost bin if you wish, compost bin holds 15 )
3. use bucket of compost with patch
4. use the correct seed with patch ( you need a seed dibber for this )
5. use watering can on patch
6. wait on the patch growing ( depending on which seed you are growing it may be best to do some other skill or farm in other patches while waiting for the product to grow)
7. harvest and recieve a good amount of xp keep what u harvest in the bank or store it in baskets/sacks then in the bank
It should be noted when you LOG OUT your crops/trees still grow and may die if they are not watched by a farmer.
