Using Farming in Runescape

by: Latona

Farming in runescape is a members only skill that offers a good means to anyone with a high enough level to be able to supply high quantities of a specific herb for their herblore training. Many people do not like farming as the high experience, low maintenance tree seeds are extremely expensive to most. There are serveral very useful ways to increase your farming experience and make money at the same time which should not be overlooked. As with all things, farming on runescape will reward those that show the dedication towards the skill.

Level: Activity: Useful For:
Level 32 Ranarr Seeds Making Money
Can benefit herblore
Level 60 Yew Tree Good Experience
Level 62 Snapdragon Making money
Decent Experience
Level 68 Palm Tree Stocking Resources for Magic Tree Payments
Good Experience
Level 75 Magic Tree Constant Easy Experience

Level 32 Farming:

At level 32 farming members will be able to grow and harvest Ranarr. This can become quite a profitable business as Ranarr is always in high demand. It may also prove to be very useful to raise your Herblore level as Prayer potions are equally in demand as Ranarr.

Collecting up Ranarr seeds yourself may prove to be a relatively slow process. Moss Giants and Trolls are two monsters that will drop Ranarr seeds, alternatively you may wish to work on your thieving skill and attempt to steal them from the Master Farmer.

If you plan to sell Ranarr or Prayer potions on a regular basis then it is strongly advised that you buy ranarr seeds from other players. The seeds themselves are not the cheapest although after investing some time in the growing and harvesting of the ranarr weed you will recoup your outlay over time. In addition you will have gained significant amounts of experience in Herblore and made a reasonable amount of profit.

Level 60 Farming:

At level 60 farming members are able to plant Yew Tree seeds. Buying Yew seeds can be expensive but they do offer decent experience in farming when checking their health. It is advisable to pay the farmer 10 cactus spines to ensure that your Yew Tree will grow. This will enable you to easily raise your total farming experience without too much effort. Although as previously stated there will be a significant cost to meet to enable this.

Level 62 Farming:

At level 62 farming members areable to grow Snapdragon Seeds. There is a healthy demand for these as they are used to make Super Restore potions that can sell for similar prices to Prayer potions. In addition, they offer better farming experience and have even better herblore experience than Ranarr. Overall they are a sound investment and usually you can collect more Snapdragon seeds simply by doing slayer tasks. Alternatively you may wish to make use of Runescape Forums and seek out players wishing to sell the seeds.

Level 68 Farming:

At level 68 farming members are able to grow Palm Trees. These are a good source of experience as well as offering the coconuts required as farmer payments to safeguard the growing of Magic Trees. There can also be a significant cost attached to Palm Trees but may save you some money if you had to buy the coconuts yourself as people will charge significant amounts of money to people wishin to buy them and if you have several Magic Trees and want to ensure their growth then the costs will gradually mount up.

Level 75 Farming:

At level 75 farming members are able to grow Magic Trees. For people looking to get very high levels in farming thn Magic Trees offer a good easy route to doing this. Magic seeds are normally in high demand and cost significant amounts of money to buy. Consequently the endeavour to 99 farming will be costly although may not require much actual work as such. Magic Tree roots are also used to make Nature Amulets that are useful for keeping track on growing various other crops.
