Firemaking Basics
by: Latona
Firemaking in Runescape is useful as it allows you to create a fire to cook food on. You will need to have a tinderbox and logs in your inventory to be able to create a fire. You may also need to use a tinderbox on other objects to be able to see in some dark tunnels.
The higher your firemaking level the quicker you will be able to light the fire. Some logs are only available on member servers while the rest of the logs are available to all players. Maple logs may be burnt on non-member worlds but can only be found on member worlds.
The tables below show the type of log, the level required to light them and the experience gained from doing so.
Logs that can be burned on non-member worlds:
| Type: | Level: | Experience: |
| Normal | 1 | 40 |
| Achey | 1 | 40 |
| Oak | 15 | 60 |
| Willow | 30 | 90 |
| Maple | 45 | 135 |
| Yew | 60 | 202.5 |
Additional logs available to burn on members worlds:
| Type: | Level: | Experience: |
| Teak | 35 | 105 |

| Magic | 75 | 303.8 |
