Using Firemaking in Runescape
by: Latona
Firemaking on runescape is not going to be most peoples choice of favourite skill as it does not offer too much variety at higher levels. Firemaking is however very useful for members as opposed to non-members as a means of being able to get Fine Cloth for using to make Splitbark Armour and such like. Firemaking for all is simply a nice easy way to give a quick boost to your overall experience and skill total within runescape as opposed to offering great variety and money making possibilities.
| Level: | Activity: | Useful For: |
| Level 30 | Willow | Fast Experience |
| Level 49 | Bullseye Lantern | Lightsource in Dark Caves |
| Level 50 | Mahogany | Constant Experience |
| Level 60 | Yew Logs | Fast Experience |
| Level 80 | Magic Pyre Logs | Making money Constant Experience |
Level 30 Firemaking:
At level 30 firemaking you are able to burn Willow logs. These are very useful for training your firemaking skill from level 30 to level 60. Willow logs are easily bought from other players or cut yourself and give decent experience when burning. Non-members generally will cut Willow logs at Draynor Village bank as they are quite close to the Willow Trees while members have a few other places where they can cut them.
Level 49 Firemaking:
At level 49 firemaking members gain the ability to light the Bullseye Lantern. This is a useful lightsource and is often used when accessed darker places on Runescape such as Lumbridge Swamp Caves while going to the mini game associated with Tears of Guthix quest.
Level 50 Firemaking:
At level 50 firemaking members are able to burn Mahogany logs. These can be found on Karamja and are useful to train your firemaking in conjunction with your Woodcutting skill in the hardwood enclosure.
Level 60 Firemaking:
At level 60 firemaking you are able to burn Yew logs. These offer a very good way of gaining rapid firemaking experience and hence quicker firemaking levels. Yew logs can easily be bought on both member and non-member servers. Over time the burning of Yew logs may prove to be expensive although the payoff is that you gain quick experience and increase firemaking skill levels with ease.
Level 80 Firemaking:
At level 80 firemaking members are able to burn Magic Pyre logs. This is useful as you may get some coloured keys that are used to open chests in the Shades of Mort'on Temple. The chests may contain fine cloth which is used in making Splitbark Armour. In addition, there are other items that you may get from the chests that can be sold at the shop of high alched. The experience for burning the Magic Pyre logs is also very useful with some Prayer experience also being gained when keys are found. Overall, this may not be the quickest way to gain firemaking experience but it does offer a way for people to make money while making use of their firemaking skill and also gaining some Prayer experience.
