Making Arrows
Making arrows in runescape is quite straightforward. You will need the following:
1.Arrow Shafts
2.Feathers
3.Arrow Tips
Each log produces 15 arrow shafts so the process is quite quick overall. The full process is as follows:
1. Use knife on logs to get 15 arrow shafts per log
2. Use feathers with your arrowshafts to get headless arrows
3. Use your arrow tips with your headless arrows to produce Arrows
The type of arrow you produce will depend on which type of arrowtip used. Bronze arrowtips will result in bronze arrows and so forth.
The fletching experience gained from making arrows will vary as well, with the higher metal used giving the greater amount of experience. The table below shows the experience received for steps 1 and 2 above.
| Name: | Level: | Experience: |
| Arrow Shafts | 1 | 0.33 |
| Headless Arrows | 1 | 1.0 |
As previously mentioned, the type of arrowtip used will ultimately determine the type of arrow produced. The following table is a summary of the level required to make each type of arrow and the experience given for doing so.
| Type: | Level: | Experience: |
| Bronze | 1 | 1.3 |
| Iron | 15 | 2.5 |
| Steel | 30 | 5.0 |
| Mithril | 45 | 7.5 |
| Adamant | 60 | 10.0 |
| Rune | 75 | 12.5 |
The experience given is for each arrow made. This has included the basic types of arrow that can be made. There are additional arrows that members can make, namely Ogre Arrows and Brutal Arrows.
Ogre Arrows:
Players will have to have completed the Big Chompy Bird Hunting Quest if they wish to make these arrows. They will need these if they want to hunt chompy so have some practical use. The process for making Ogre Arrows is outlined below and it is similar to making normal arrows apart from the resources that are required:
1. Use Achey trees instead of normal logs for the arrow shafts
2. Use your knife on the achey logs to produce Ogre Arrow Shafts
3. Use feathers to make flighted Ogre Arrows (4 feathers required per arrow)
4. Use wolf bones for the arrowheads - use a chisel to make the arrow tips.
5. Add the wolfbone arrow tips to the flighted Ogre arrows to finish the process
Brutal Arrows:
Brutal Arrows can be made after you have learnt how to make them during the Zogre Flesh Eater quest and got far enough into that quest to be able to make them. The benefit of these arrows is that they deliver more damage to undead creatures such as Zogre.
The process is again similar as before:
1. Use Achey trees instead of normal logs for the arrow shafts
2. Use your knife on the achey logs to produce Ogre Arrow Shafts
3. Use feathers to make flighted Ogre Arrows (4 feathers required per arrow)
4. Smith nails to use for the arrowheads
5. Use nails on the flighted ogre arrows. One nail will be used per brutal arrow and you will need to have a hammer equipped in your inventory in order to force the nail into the flighted ogre arrows.
The table below shows the experience for making the basic resources required for both Ogre and Brutal arrows:
| Name: | Quantity: | Level: | Experience: |
| Ogre Shafts | 2 - 6 | 5 | 1.6 |
| Flighted Arrows | 2 - 6 | 5 | 0.9 |
| Wolfbone tips | 2 - 6 | 5 | 2.5 |
Again, the experience is for each item made. The key difference between normal logs and achey logs is that achey logs randomly produce between 2 - 6 shafts while normal logs constantly produce 15 shafts each.
The table below shows the level required and the experience gained for making both brutal and ogre arrows.
| Arrow: | Level: | Experience: |
| Ogre | 5 | 1.0 |
| Bronze Brutal | 7 | 1.4 |
| Iron Brutal | 18 | 2.6 |
| Steel Brutal | 33 | 5.1 |
| Black Brutal | 38 | 6.4 |
| Mithril Brutal | 49 | 7.5 |
| Adamant Brutal | 62 | 10.1 |
| Rune Brutal | 77 | 12.5 |
