Herblore Tips

by: Latona

Herblore Levelling Tips:

  • Level 1 - 12 you should do any relevant quests giveing herblore experience and then finish off making normal attack potions. Guam leaves are normally not hard to stockpile and the second ingredient is easily bought at Taverly Herblore store.
  • Level 13 - 26 players can make normal strength potions or can simply use stockpiled tarromin with ashes to make serum 207. The Shades of Mort'on quest will need to have been started to make this potion.
  • Leve 26 - 38 players can make energy potions. Chocolate dust can be stockpiled from various locations and harralander herb is readily found in monster drops.
  • Level 38 - 99 players could concentrate solely on making Prayer potions although will require good suppliers and may require you to constantly farm Ranarr yourself.
  • Level 45 - 99 players can switch from Prayer potions to making Super Attack potions. The eye of newt secondary ingredient is easily bought at Taverly Herblore store.
  • Level 63 - 99 players can switch to making Super Restore potions if they plan to farm a lot of Snapdragon seeds.

Herblore Experience Tips:

  • Always try to identify a herb from a monster drop. If you can't identify it then you can always stock it for later use or to sell.
  • Normal strength potions and Serum 207 both offer 50 experience each. Although ashes are more easily obtained than limpwurts and cheaper, therefore may be more useful to using up any unwanted tarromin from your bank.
  • Prayer potions will give 87.5 experience each and the secondary ingredient can easily be collect from near the crafting guild.
  • Super attack potions will give 100 experience each while Irit leaves can be bought for a reasonably fair price and the secondary ingredient can be bought very easily from Taverly Herblore store.
  • It will be more beneficial using limpwurt roots to make Super Strength potions than to make normal Strength potions. The Super Strength potion gives a higher boost to strength and is more sellable.

Runescape Money Tips by Herblore:

  • Prayer potions are always in demand. Farming ranarr and collecting snape grass while waiting for the herbs to grow can be a good money maker.
  • Snapdragon can fetch similar prices to prayer potions and collecting red spiders eggs while waiting for the herbs to grow can make your time more efficient and increase your profit margin.
  • Concentrate on potions that are useful to most people - super strength potions are useful while super attack are not as useful as most people already have a stock of Super Attack.
  • Collecting secondary ingredients for herblorists can provide a healthy cash income and generally requires little or no specific skills.
  • Selling unid herbs can provide low level combat and low skill players a valuable source of revenue.
  • Weapon Poison Potions can sell for decent prices, although there will not be demand for them in large quantities, so having a few of them in your bank can reap the rewards of high prices for one sale.

Other Runescape Herblore Tips:

  • Greenman's Ale will give your Herblore +1 boost for a short time and +2 when it is matured (made from brewing by players).
  • Farming your own herbs will give you control over the herbs you stock in your bank.
  • Providing your own secondary ingredients will save you a lot of money in the long term.
  • If you make energy potions and use them yourself, you can easily use them at banks and near banks to be able to stockpile your empty vials. This can save you some time having to go out and buy more vials.
Overall, there are many different ways to use herblore in runescape and since it is a member only skill, it will limit the people who will be able to buy the finished product or limit the people who will be able to collect up the resources. It is an expensive skill to raise but it can bring in a good income when you have a high enough level and stockpile of resources to be able to supply any type of potion that might become highly desired when Jagex make some game alterations.
