Hunter Skill - Bird Snaring

Bird snaring is a part of the Hunter skill and is necessary for inexperienced Hunters to learn the skill. The basic item required is simply a bird snare that is available from the Hunter Shops.

The bird snare is a trap that gets laid by players. However the bird will be fooled into thinking it is a simple perch for it to rest on. Once the weight of the bird lands on the perch, it will drop away and a small loop of wire will trap the bird by the feet.

A bird snare should be laid in an area with many birds circling above for maximum results. Once caught, a bird will leave feathers that can be used when Fletching or even for catching the fabled 'rainbow fish'.

The bird snare traps can be smoked with a torch at level 39. This will make it a lot easier to attract birds and consequently trap them as there will be no trace of human scent to alarm the birds.

There are several birds available for players to attempt to trap using the bird snare. The table below lists the bird name, the level of Hunter Skill that is required to trap the bird, the actual location where the bird can be found as well as the reward for successfully trapping a bird.
