Using Mining in Runescape
by: Latona
Mining on runescape is likely the most popular skill in runescape for both members and non-members. The skill itself is very easy to do and can offer dedicated people a good long-term income from their hard work. Mining can easily compliment the smithing skill or the ores can simply be sold to make a good income. Members have more mines where they can train than non-members, although the pricing of ores is relatively similar for both members and non-members. The main price determination is the quantity of ores and who is actually buying or selling the ores.
| Level: | Activity: | Useful For: |
| Level 15 | Iron Ore | Making Money Fast Experience |
| Level 40 | Gold Ore | Making Money Good Experience |
| Level 41 | Rune Pick | Making Money Faster Mining |
| Level 60 | Mining Guild | Making Money Mining Coal |
| Level 85 | Runite | Making Money |
Level 15 Mining:
At level 15 mining all players will be able to mine Iron Ores. This is an ore that offers both members and non-members an opportunity to make some significant income if they are dedicated enough. Members will have the ability to use a greater variety of mines over non-members, although both types of player can expect to receive 100gp per iron ore if they sell the ores in bulk. The demand for iron ore is usually quite constant and the market quite stable therefore it is quite a safe way to ensure that you earn a decent income.
Level 40 Mining:
At level 40 mining all players will be able to mine Gold Ores. The price of gold ores has increased significantly since Jagex allowed members to change the reward gauntlets from The Family Crest quest. Mining gold ore can be quite slow for non-members, but if they can mine a bulk of gold ores then 600gp per ore is not out of the question. The reason the price is comparatively high is that most players are reluctant to mine gold ore in bulk, but they are highly desired by members who wish to increase their Smithing skill while using the Goldsmith Gauntlets.
Level 41 Mining:
At level 41 mining all players will be able to wield a rune pickaxe. A rune pickaxe will enable all players to mine their ores quicker which will lead to potentially greater income. My advice is to mine iron ore until you are at leve 41 mining, then you can decided which ore you wish to mine from then on.
Level 60 Mining:
At level 60 mining all players will be able to enter the Mining Guild. This location offers a vast amount of coal rocks to mine and is located near to Falador East Bank. Most players enjoy mining here as Coal is one of the ores that is in high demand and will guarantee to be sold when in bulk. There are also some Mithril Ores located here that can bring in some additional income for the dedicated miner.
Level 85 Mining:
At level 85 mining players will be able to mine runite ore. This is the ultimate aim for most players as runite is always able to sell for a decent price. However, members have the benefit of having access to rune ores that are not located in the wilderness while non-members will have to take their chances mining in deep wilderness.
