Ranging Tips
by: Latona
Ranging is very popular in runescape and quite easy to learn. Ranging can take a while to become useful as the first 40 levels it is normally hard to raise quickly. After level 40 ranging, players will know what style they prefer and should not find any problems with training at their favourite monsters or locations if they are a runescape member. On the other hand, if they are a free to play runescape player, training locations will be limited at various times.
Range Levelling Tips:
- Level 1 - 30 non members have various options such as cows at the crafting guild and can move onto various monster at the Jail near Port Sarim.
- Level 1 - 30 for members can be the same although they can also choose to fight monsters on the Khazzard Battlefield or low level monsters at Ardougne Zoo.
- Level 20 - 50 is generally trained on barbarians. Players can easily use items such as the table to block the barbarians from attacking them. Members can access under the White Wolf Mountain or range higher level creatures in Ardougne Zoo.
- Level 50 - 60 players can try fighting various city guards using obstacles to prevent the guards from attacking you.
- Level 60+ non-members should consider training on lesser demons at Karamja Volcano while members have a much more varied choice. Blue Dragons at the ogre enclave is a good choice to stock up on Dragon Hide and Dragon Bones. Additionally, members may prefer to use King Lathas' Training field to range ogres.
- Level 60+ Members can also consider Fire Giants or any monster they get from a slayer task is normally easily ranged.
Range Experience Tips:
- Using knives or darts can give quicker experience as they have a quicker firing rate. They should only be used on monsters that have a low range defense.
- Using a cannon while ranging will give you quicker experience. No hitpoints experience will be awarded for damage done by a cannon and the cost of using the cannon can get quite high.
Runescape Ranging Money Tips:
- Ranging Blue Dragons can make good money from stocking the hides and bones that can be sold later or used to advance your own skills.
- Make all your own ranging items (arrows, darts, knives and cannonballs), otherwise ranging can become very costly.
- Training range at places where you can pick up your arrows, knives or darts will save you money in the long run.
Other Runescape Ranging Tips:
- While doing slayer tasks you should use a cannon and melee the monster. This will give both melee and range experience and enable you to complete the task quicker.
