This is a basic guide for people who kinda dont get smithing in runescape...

How To Smith Bronze Bars:
Bronze is the most basic bar you can smith. To make a Bronze Bar you need 1 COPPER ORE and 1 TIN ORE. Smelt them at a furnace to achieve a bronze bar. Then the Bronze Bar can be hammered into armor or weapons like all bars can. (Except Gold and Silver bars).
You need to be level 1 or higher smithing to smith a bronze bar.

How To Smith Iron Bars:
Iron Ore is rarer to find than copper or tin ore so this ore is harder to obtain. To smith an iron bar you need 1 IRON ORE but there is a 50% chance that it will work and 50% chance that it will be impure. Iron Bars. can be smithed into armor or weapons at an anvil. The Iron Ore can be smithed into a bar at a furnace.
You need a smithing level of 15 or higher to make Iron Bars.

How To Make Silver Bars:
Silver is even harder to obtain than Iron Ore. When you mine Silver, you need 1 SILVER NUGGET to smith at a furnace (it cannot be impure like Iron) and afterwards you obtain a Silver Bar. Silver Bars cannot be hammered into weapons or armor at an anvil but can be crafted at level 16 crafting into a Holy Symbol.
You need a smithing level of 20 or higher to smelt Silver.

How To Make Steel Bars:
Steel Bars are made by smelting 2 Coals with 1 Iron Ore. The Iron Ore when smelted with the Coal cannot be impure. Make sure when you're smithing that you click on the Coal and not the Iron Ore otherwise you will smelt the Iron Ore without the Coal! When a Steel Bar is obtained you can smith it into armor or weapons depending on your smithing level.
Steel Bars can be smelted at level 30 or higher smithing.

How To Make Gold Bars:
Gold Bars are valuable but are hard to mine and find. Gold is usually protected by monsters or creatures but when Gold Nuggets are obtained they can be smithed 1 GOLD NUGGET at a time to obtain a valuable Gold Bar. Gold Bars cannot be hammered at an anvil but they can be crafted into valuable items such as necklaces, amulets or rings and some can be encrusted with gems!
You need to be a smithing level of 40 or higher to smelt a nugget into a Gold Bar.

The Varrock Anvils:
These are probably the most popular anvils in the game and can get quite overcrowded! This is where you will be able to use your bars to make weapons, armor or other items.
The Furnace:

The furnace is where you smelt your ores into bars. If you look right you will see a furnace because there are ores located above the roof. This particular furnace is at Falador City.

How To Smith:
The picture is your option menu depending on what you wish to smith when you use a bar with an anvil. The item you wish to make depends on your smithing level. The better the item, the higher smithing level is required. Just simply click on a bar, then an anvil and a series of options will appear from which you can select what you wish to make.

The Anvils:
The anvils is where your bars can be hammered into weapons or armor. The anvils are in Varrock City.

Once you have a good mining lvl and smithing lvl you can start mecanting and making money
