Smithing Basics

The smithing skill is one of the most useful skills in Runescape. It has been my personal favourite since I started playing a long time ago and was my first skill to level 99.

Smithing itself enables people to make their own items (upto rune) and therefore very beneficial for anyone who is not a member. It can be used to make a lot of money or you can be self-sufficient without the need for other people to provide your items. It will take a lot of time to get level 99 but if you are prepared to invest heavily then the time can be dramatically cut down.

To smith any item you will need a hammer and be at an anvil. Players can either buy bars from other people or make the bars themselves. The process of making the bar is smelting it.
