Using Thieving in Runescape

by: Latona

Thieving on runescape is a members only skill that can earn any combat level player some decent money. The key is having patience and knowing which monsters to thieve from to get good results. Thieving can become quite boring and frustrating when you get caught, but at the same time you are guaranteed the same return on every successful thieving op on most monsters. Thieving is a skill that cannot be taken away by scammers and does not require any specific tools for basic thieving. This means you can always find a way to start making money and gettin back on your feet if you have been scammed. Some players enjoy thieving while most ignore the skill for long periods of time.

Level: Activity: Useful For:
Level 5 Bakers Stall Training to higher thieving level
Level 38 Master Farmer Getting Seeds for farming
Level 55 Ardougne Knight Fast Experience
Level 65 Watchman Fast Experience
Level 72 King Lathas' Chest Making money

Level 5 Thieving:

At level 5 thieving members should gain some experience easily at East Ardougne Bakers Stall. This will let them train their thieving in a relatively safe area. The guards will attack at times, but as you are thieving food, it should still be safe for even lower level players.

Level 38 Thieving:

At level 38 thieving members will be able to thieve from the master farmer. This can enable players to stock up easily on seeds to help raise their farming skill. The majority of seeds that are thieved will not serve much purpose, but ranarr seeds are possible and they can be rewarding - whether you decide to grow them yourself or sell for profit.

Level 55 Thieving:

At level 55 thieving members will be able to thieve from the Ardougne Knights. This will enable players to train their skill a lot quicker if they trap the knight in one of the buildings and take care not to attack it. Players may choose to keep training here until they reach level 99 thieving as the experience rate gained is decent.

Level 65 Thieving:

At level 65 thieving members may wish to change over to thieving Watchmen at the Yanille Tower. Each successful operation will give you a piece of bread which means you do not need to bring anything with you when training here. The experience reward is quite good, although they do catch you more than the Ardougne Knights and popular opinion is that both the Ardougne Knights or the Yanille Watchmen are very useful for training your thieving skill.

Level 72 Thieving:

At level 72 thieving members may choose to try the chest of King Lathas. The respawn rate is not great to justify training there for the experience, however, the chest rewards can accumulate and grow to become a good method of making money.
